COURSE LENGTH:

     The course is a 2 month course, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4 :00 p.m., lunch 12:00 -1:00 p.m., with the occasional Saturday or Sunday, this is determined by the availability of the owners of the horses used for the practical sections.

    Students must be available for these times, no correspondence for this course. A general understanding and handling of horses is a must.

WHO CAN TAKE THIS COURSE?

     Anyone wanting to learn more about the care and mechanisms of their horses, whether your a trainer, breeder, wanting to start your own business or just a horse enthusiast.  This course is not available to anyone under the age of 20.

Lameness Massage - Accupressure, Stress Points, Techniques.
Nutrition.
Practical - Hands On.
Safety.

PRACTICAL:

     This will be hours and hours of hands on, with a variety of different horses, all ages and all sizes.

     Visual and applied learning of movement and conformation, lameness and natural and unnatural forms of movement

     Hands on consists of learning the correct feel and positions of the vertebrae's, leading to the actual manipulation of the vertebrae's, hips, shoulders, neck, etc.

     Massage Therapy will consist of learning the correct feel and position of the groups of muscles, how to release muscle knots, when to apply hot or cold treatment.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

1.  On site camping (2 L Ranch) $ 50.00 per month - includes power, washroom and shower available.

3.  Moose Springs Resort - approximately 15 km - 964-3137 - camping and motel accommodation

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

     Pens, pencils, paper = note taking, binder, calculator, warm clothes for fall course, safe foot wear (no sandals etc), your smiles and enthusiasm. The purchase of the book, The Coloring Atlas of Horse Anatomy, by Robert Kainer may be purchased from me $ 50.00 or from bookstore $ 52.95 + tax.

UPGRADING:

     This is a  mandatory yearly upgrade, cost is $ 100.00 per year.  Failure to upgrade will result in termination of membership, website advertising and termination of accredited certificate.  Upgrade will be on a set date and will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, it will involve review of course content, practical aspects and any new procedures or information relavent to the course content. There will also be time alloted for any cares or concerns that the students may have.

     Once upgrade is completed a new year sticker will be provided to add to your certificate, this will set you apart from others and let your customers know that you are keeping current with your studies.

MEMBERSHIP:

     Memberships strengthen the organization, contributes to the success of our whole industry, one person becomes several all supporting our right to succeed in our business. Membership cost is $ 100.00 per year due Jan 1 of each year and includes

** Access to potential customers.
